Charlotte Brontë

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë was one of the handful of reading assigned books in school in England that I actually enjoyed and grew to love – another was Animal Farm by George Orwell.

Brontë was a pioneer and richly insightful into the frailty and complexity of the human condition.
