I have loved the essays and plays of James Baldwin for years, ever since I taught high school in Harlem. I was introduced to Baldwin’s writings by my professor at the Harvard School of Education, Charles Vert Willie, who had been a classmate of Martin Luther King Jr. at Morehouse College.
